ECA: Manifesto Against Illegal Gambling
The European Casino Association (ECA) has presented a manifesto in line with the EU’s goals for the period 2025-2029, highlighting the importance of fighting illegal gambling.
The manifesto focuses on consumer protection, regulatory compliance and economic growth, as illegal gambling harms European markets.
It is estimated that illegal gambling generates €42 billion a year, depriving governments of €10 billion in tax revenue.
The ECA manifesto is based on three principles – Support, Protect and Promote – which contribute to strengthening antitrust measures, consumer protection and cooperation with European policymakers. The association also supports increased control over illegal operators and calls for the fight against financial crimes through Europol.
