AGCO lifts NorthStar fine after evidence of compliance with Ontario geolocation standards.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has revised its decision to fine NorthStar Gaming. In October, the company was fined $30,000, $10,000 of which was for alleged geolocation violations. AGCO said the NorthStarBets.ca website was accessible outside of Ontario.

However, on December 23, the regulator found that NorthStar had provided evidence to support its compliance with Standard 3.02, which requires that gambling on sites be accessible only in Ontario. As a result, the $10,000 fine was reversed.

However, the $20,000 fine remains in effect due to delays in providing information.

NorthStar Bets offers gambling and sports betting in Ontario through partnerships with Playtech and Kambi. The dot-com site serves customers outside the province and operates under a Kahnawake Gaming Commission license.
