The city of Peoria, Illinois, has taken steps to attract Boyd Gaming to build a land-based casino. The city council plans to hire financial and legal advisors to help negotiate the expansion of the Par-A-Dice casino.
Boyd Gaming, which currently operates in East Peoria, is planning a new land-based location by 2026. Peoria is committed to ensuring that the new facility is located within city limits, per agreements dating back to the 1990s.
The casino is expected to bring significant economic benefits, including increased tax revenue and tourism.
