Dakota Dunes Casino announces 12,000 sq. ft. expansion to enhance gaming services.
On October 18, 2024, in Whitecap Dakota First Nation, SK, the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) announced the expansion of Dakota Dunes Casino, adding 12,000 sq. ft. to the gaming floor. The upgrade also includes new dining areas and a new high-stakes gaming area.
Whitecap Dakota Nation Chairman Darcy Baer said the expansion is timely as the resort is also planning to build a thermal spa. The expansion will improve attendance and position the casino as a premier resort in the province.
The casino expansion will create new jobs for local residents, as more than 74% of the employees are already First Nations. Dakota Dunes Casino will remain open to the public during construction.
