Branford celebrates a major achievement: Over 25 years, the city has received $100 million from the OLG.

Branford celebrated a major milestone as total payouts from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) reached $100 million. Mayor Kevin Davis emphasized that these funds significantly impacted the city's development over the past 25 years, particularly through annual contributions to charitable organizations.

At the Oct. 4 event, Davis said, "We are deeply grateful for the continued partnership with OLG and their contributions to the growth and well-being of Branford." Although the city characterized these payments as "donations," they are a portion of gaming revenue derived from 5% of gross slot revenue.

These funds have implemented more than 1,400 grants through the Branford Community Foundation and funded projects such as Canada Day celebrations, downtown renovations and library expansions. OLG representative Kathleen Devine reiterated the company's pride in its 25-year relationship with the city, noting that these funds have been successful investments in important local initiatives.
