The online gambling market in Spain continues to rise through 2025 with betting takings and casino marketing expenditure surging. According to iGamingBusiness, the gross gaming revenue across Spain’s online gaming sector reached 405.36 million EUR. This shows an increase of 16.49% when compared to the same period last year.

Deposit and Withdrawal Trends

The stats also show that player deposits as well as withdrawals saw year-on-year increases of 18.19% and 16.82% respectively. This is compared to the previous quarter when deposits were flat, up by 0.03% with withdrawals growing by 2.7%. Marketing expenditure of 154.84 million EUR was up by 17.89% compared to last year but managed to fall by 6% on Q2.

Marketing and Promotional Spending

Marketing expenditure was boosted by a 23.47% year on year increase in promotions to 82.03 million EUR. The promotional spending for this quarter was broken down into 28 million EUR in bonus funds. which was released as prizes and 53 million EUR not included in prizes. Affiliate spending grew by almost 20% to 15.86 million EUR, with advertising up 8.42% to 54 million.

Growing Number of Casino Accounts

Based on statistics from the General Directorate For Gambling Regulation, casino accounts in Spain take 56.98% of the online gambling market in the whole country, compared to only 22.93% in Q3 of 2024. This growth is driven by slot machines, live roulette and blackjack.
