Sarah McCarthy to lead RGC, championing responsible gambling in the digital age.

The Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) has selected Sarah McCarthy as its new CEO, succeeding Shelley White, who retires after eight years of transformative leadership. McCarthy, previously Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at the Rick Hansen Foundation, brings 15 years of experience in social impact, strategic planning, and program development.

Set to officially begin on January 5, 2025, McCarthy is recognized for launching the RHF Accessibility Certification, rating nearly 2,000 buildings, and working on government-funded projects. Her leadership has fostered inclusivity, with her initiatives reaching over 270,000 children through accessibility education programs.

As McCarthy takes on her new role, the RGC expressed optimism about her ability to guide the organization through the evolving landscape of digital-first gambling, continuing its mission of promoting responsible gaming and safeguarding players.
