NE Group and Betika Launch Football-Themed Crash Game ‘Defender’ Across Africa

NE Group has joined forces with Betika to introduce “Defender”, a football-themed crash game, to players in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

First launched in 2022, Defender combines strategic gameplay with real-time decision-making, challenging players to cash out before the opposing team scores.  

This partnership enables Betika to offer an enhanced version of Defender, which was rolled out earlier this year, enriching its gaming portfolio. Peter Stagles, Betika’s Group Chief Product Officer, expressed excitement about integrating NE Group's game, highlighting the popularity of football across Africa.  

The game's engaging football theme and strategic elements are tailored to resonate with the region's vibrant sports culture. NE Group has also partnered with Sporting Solutions to enhance its sportsbook platform and appointed Vishal Vijay Zend as Head of Product to drive innovative iGaming solutions.
