Kahnawà:ke and Entain End Partnership for Sports Interaction
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) has officially ended its partnership with Entain Group, which operated the online platform Sports Interaction. As announced on October 28, Mohawk Online Limited (MOL) has fully terminated its multi-year partnership with Entain’s subsidiary, Avid International Ltd.
Sports Interaction was one of the first brands licensed by the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission (KGC) back in the 1990s. Since 2022, MOL has operated the platform in Canada, excluding Ontario. During that time, MOL has contributed to the development of the community by paying out $23 million in gaming dividends.
The decision to end the partnership with MCK was made due to the changing regulatory environment in Canada and economic factors. Meanwhile, Entain will retain its back office in Kahnawà:ke and its KGC license.
The end of the exclusivity agreement allows Kahnawà:ke to explore new opportunities for online gaming. However, there is no clear strategy for the development of the new brand.
