Significant acquisition of Pure Canadian Gaming opens new horizons for indigenous communities in Canada.

Indigenous Gaming Partners (IGP) has acquired Alberta-based casino operator Pure Canadian Gaming after receiving approvals from the Alberta Gaming Regulatory Commission and the Canadian Antitrust Bureau. The transaction includes four casinos: two in Edmonton, one in Calgary and one in Lethbridge. While IGP has acquired the operating assets, the properties will be owned by VICI Properties Inc. effective January 2023. Under the agreement, VICI will transfer its leases on these properties to IGP.

IGP is a new company formed by five Nova Scotia nations in partnership with Sonco Gaming Inc., a leader in Indigenous casino management. The transaction is an important step in developing economic opportunities for Indigenous communities. Michael Peters, Chairman of IGP, emphasized the significance of this acquisition in creating new opportunities for growth and benefits for their communities.

Sonco Gaming will work with IGP to operate four Pure casinos.
