CFL Continues Betting Push with Renewed Evoke Sponsorship in Ontario

The CFL is doubling down on fan engagement through betting, renewing its partnership with Evoke, a global gaming operator based in Gibraltar and active in Ontario. As an authorized gaming operator, Evoke’s 888casino brand will be prominently featured on CFL sidelines and broadcasts, especially during games involving Ontario’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Ottawa Redblacks, and Toronto Argonauts.
Tyler Keenan, CFL’s Chief Revenue Officer, highlighted, “888 has unlocked new sports betting and entertainment avenues for CFL fans, and we’re eager to expand this partnership across Ontario.” Since Ontario’s market launch in April 2022, the CFL has leveraged gaming partnerships to deepen fan connections and boost sponsorship revenue.
However, with growing scrutiny on marketing practices, similar to European markets, responsible gambling is taking centre stage in Canada. “Responsible gambling is simply fun,” stated Owen Welsh, CFL’s Associate VP of Sports Betting, at the Canadian Gaming Summit.
