Alberta iGaming Market Adds bet365
bet365 has secured registration for Alberta’s upcoming regulated iGaming market, positioning itself ahead of the province’s planned July launch.

bet365 has taken another step in its Canadian expansion after registering to launch in Alberta’s new regulated online gambling market.

The UK-based operator has completed registration with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis for both its online casino and sportsbook products. Alberta is expected to open its private online gambling market on July 13, making it the second Canadian province after Ontario to regulate online betting and casino activity.

bet365’s entry adds to a fast-growing list of operators preparing for launch. The number of registered operators has now reached 31, with several companies planning to bring more than one platform to the province. These include Caesars, DraftKings, Bally’s, Super Group and other major gambling brands.

Operators that cannot complete registration before the July 13 launch may ask for an extension of up to three months. However, if they still miss the extended October 13 deadline, they could be blocked from Alberta’s online gaming market.

The launch is being watched closely because Ontario has already shown how large a regulated Canadian iGaming market can become. In March 2026, Ontario players wagered almost $9.6bn through licensed online casinos and sportsbooks.

Still, Alberta may not simply copy Ontario’s path. bet365 has said the province needs its own approach because sports culture, betting habits and player expectations can differ by region.

For bet365, Alberta offers another chance to grow in Canada. For the province, the bigger test will be whether it can build a legal market that attracts players while keeping strong safeguards in place.
