Through education, certification and innovation, the RGC has made new strides in promoting responsible gambling and supporting players in Ontario and beyond.

The Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) continues to promote responsible gaming through education, certification and action. In its 2023-24 annual report, Impact: Action Creates Change, the RGC highlights the importance of raising standards of responsible gaming in the face of rapid changes in technology, media and culture.

Through a partnership with Playtech, the RGC has conducted research into new opportunities for using technology to support players. The Council recommends that operators offer personalized tools for different segments of players.

The RGC has also added Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment to its group of partners, developing a workshop for them on preventing harm from sports betting.

The RG Check program has had its most active year ever, accrediting 44 new operators, 32 of which are online. RGC has also transitioned its PlaySmart Centre program to an online format, giving players access to resources and virtual support.
