Record Revenue: US Commercial Gaming Hits New High in Q3 2024
According to a report from the American Gaming Association (AGA), US commercial gaming revenue reached a record $17.71 billion in the third quarter of 2024, setting the industry’s highest ever. This is the 15th consecutive quarter of annual revenue growth.
Total revenue for the first nine months was $53.24 billion, an 8% increase over last year’s figures, and projects 2024 as the fourth consecutive record year.
Online gaming was the growth driver, providing 29% of total revenue. iGaming grew 30.3% and sports betting grew 42.4% thanks to market expansion.
Brick-and-mortar casinos took in $12.38 billion, down 0.9%, but new openings supported the segment.
Operators paid $3.79 billion in taxes, an 8.9% increase from last year, providing a significant benefit to local governments.
