Play’n GO Secures Alberta iGaming Licence
Play’n GO has secured an Alberta iGaming licence, allowing the supplier to bring its online casino games to licensed operators in the province ahead of market launch.

Play’n GO has been granted a licence to supply online casino content in Alberta, strengthening its presence in Canada ahead of the province’s planned regulated market launch later this year.

The licence was awarded by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Commission. It allows Play’n GO to offer its portfolio of online casino games to licensed operators in the province once the market goes live.

Alberta is the latest Canadian market for the Swedish gaming supplier. Play’n GO is already active in Ontario and Quebec, and the new licence adds another regulated province to its North American footprint.

The company said Alberta fits its wider strategy of expanding only in regulated markets. Play’n GO has often pointed to compliance, player protection and long-term market stability as key parts of its business model.

Magnus Olsson, Chief Commercial Officer at Play’n GO, said:

“Being granted a licence in Alberta is another important step in our North American growth journey and further strengthens our presence in Canada. Regulated markets are the foundation of our business.”

Before launch, the supplier has been preparing its technology and game portfolio to meet Alberta’s regulatory standards. An initial group of game titles is already going through certification to make sure they are ready for launch.

The move gives licensed operators in Alberta access to Play’n GO’s casino content once the province opens its regulated online gambling market. It also puts the company in a stronger position as more Canadian provinces explore regulated iGaming models.
