Ontario iGaming Market Hits Record
Ontario’s iGaming market set a new monthly record in March, reaching $9.59B in wagers. Casino dominates with an 87% share, while betting and poker continue to grow.

Ontario’s regulated iGaming market set a new record in March, reaching CAD $9.59 billion in total wagers, according to data from iGaming Ontario. The figure marks a 10% increase compared to February and surpasses the previous high recorded in January.

Revenue also showed strong growth. Total non-adjusted gross gaming revenue (NAGGR) reached $387 million, up 13% month-over-month. Despite this, active player accounts declined by 5% to 1.235 million. At the same time, average revenue per user increased by 19% to $313, indicating higher spending per player.

Casino remained the dominant segment of the market. It generated $8.33 billion in handle, accounting for 87% of total wagers. Sports betting followed with $1.08 billion, representing an 11% share and a 14% increase compared to February. Poker saw the strongest growth, rising 36% month-over-month to $183 million, although it still holds a small share of the market.

In terms of revenue distribution, casino brought in $318.5 million, or 82% of the total. Sports betting generated $61.6 million, while poker contributed $6.9 million.

The Ontario market currently includes 45 licensed operators and 79 active gaming websites, with additional companies in the process of obtaining approval. Since the start of 2026, total wagers in the province have reached $27.8 billion.

Poker liquidity could expand in the future, as a court case related to shared player pools is currently being considered at the Supreme Court of Canada.
