Macau Projects 11% GGR Growth, Reaching $30B in 2025 Amid Tourism Recovery
The Macau government projects gross gaming revenue (GGR) to grow by 11% in 2025, reaching 240 billion patacas (approximately US$29.93 billion). This increase from 216 billion pataks in 2024 is the result of tourism recovery after the pandemic. The forecast for 2025, which was presented in the government's budget plan, is based on the expected increase in the number of tourists in the city.
In 2025, the Macau government plans to receive 80 billion patacas from gambling taxes. The government's total revenue is 121 billion patakas, and expenses - 113.3 billion patakas, which allows for a budget surplus of 7.7 billion patakas. Spending on social programs and education is increasing by 7%, and tax rebates of 4.83 billion patakas are planned to stimulate the economy.
