The British government plans to increase taxes on online casinos and bookmakers, which could seriously affect the gambling industry.

The UK government is considering raising taxes on the gambling industry to cover a £22 billion deficit. According to sources, the new measures could increase the tax burden by up to 3 billion pounds and are now being actively discussed by two influential think tanks.

Severe tax changes are planned for online casinos and bookmakers, with a possible doubling of tax rates. These changes are expected to generate between £900 million and £3 billion of extra funding each year.

However, industry representatives are vocal in their opposition, warning of the possible growth of the illegal gambling market if taxes are increased.
