The Auditor General’s latest report shows how OLG is actively adapting to new market conditions, ensuring competition with private operators in Ontario.

The Ontario Auditor General has recognized the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) as successful in adapting to a competitive market with commercial online casinos.

In her first annual report released this week, Shelley Spence noted that OLG has implemented 70% of the recommendations made in 2022 after the province opened its doors to private operators. In particular, OLG has developed a strategy to introduce new iGaming products, including 80 new games between February and April 2024.

Despite increasing competition from 51 licensed operators, OLG continues to strengthen its position in the market. As a result, its gross gaming revenue grew by 12%, demonstrating the effectiveness of its strategic initiatives.
